Gentle fits：休日からオフィスカジュアルまで通用するキレイめニットポロ

元々スポーツウェアとして誕生したポロシャツ。現代ではキレイめスタイルはもちろん、多くの会社ではオフィスカジュアルでの着用も認められています。ただ、スポーツウェアを起源とするアイテムのため、伝統的なデザインに寄るとコーディネートが軽快過ぎる印象を与える恐れがあるのも事実。今作では、休日着からビジネスシーンまで通用する大人の男性に相応しい品、そして現代的な印象を与えるシルエットを強く意識し、設計しました。

身幅はインナーにTシャツを合わせられるほどのゆとりを持たせながら、袖は腕に吸い付くようなスリムフィットに設計。ピタピタにありがちな窮屈な見た目を避けながら、袖をフィットさせることで逞しい腕周りを演出します。裾まわりのリブの締め付けにより丈感の微調整ができるため、インナー使いしたTシャツを裾から少し見せるといったレイヤードも楽しめます。

Gentle materials：カリカリの超ドライタッチに特化！和紙&超強撚コットン糸のオリジナルニット

高温多湿な環境下での不快感を少しでも解消するために開発したのがこの編み地です。接地面は和紙糸になるように編み上げることで、汗によって肌に生地がはり付く感覚を軽減する超ドライタッチに。和紙は“和製リネン”と呼ばれるほど、天然繊維ながら「ドライタッチ」で「軽量」、そして「吸水性」「速乾性」「通気性」に優れているといった機能的なメリットを豊富に備えています。

表面はWOOSTERシリーズでお馴染みの超強撚コットン糸「C WAVE」を細番手にブラッシュアップした「C WAVE SLIM」が出てくるように調整。ナチュラルな弾力がありながら肌離れが良い風合いを生み、ストレッチ性、形状回復性も高い仕上がりに。あえて編み目がキレイな裏面(ツル目)を表に採用することで、上品な雰囲気を底上げ。薄い生地感ながら縦畝がキレイに出た表面感が、視覚的にもスタイリッシュな印象を演出します。


Gentle made：山形で70年以上続くニット専業ファクトリーの職人技を詰め込んだ安心のハイクオリティ

ニットを専業として70年以上続く山形県の老舗ファクトリーにて生産。素材・糸のブレンドのバランスや編みのテンション調整など、ベーシックな構造の中に高度な職人技がふんだんに詰め込まれています。そのため、編み地が美しく整っており、形状回復性が高いため、何かに引っ掛けて糸が飛び出しても、ある程度は手で伸ばしながら揉み込み、スチームアイロンをかけることで元の状態に戻せます。


「このニットは、例えるなら南国の島のビーチにある、ヤシの木に吊るされたハンモックに寝転んでいるような心地よさを思わせる着心地が魅力です。ドライなテクスチャーを感じながら、そよ風が汗を連れ去っていくような高い吸水性と通気性によって得られる心地よさを感じて頂けたら幸いです。そのため、カシミヤやシルクのようなとろっとした滑らかな肌触りを求める方にはおすすめできません。

また前開きの深さやボタン配置のバランスも当然こだわっているのですが、何より注目してもらいたいのは身頃に合わせて襟のパーツも縦畝が出るよう編み地を調整しているところ。ニットポロの多くは、襟パーツだけ編み地が総針というフラットなゴム編みになっているのですが、これが個人的に、襟と身頃のパーツの見え方が中途半端に違うクリケットシャツのようにどうしても見えてしまい……。職人の方々と相談しながら調整いただいたおかげで、全体に統一感のある見た目に仕上がりました。他とは一味違う洗練されたベーシックウェアとして様々なコーディネートに合わせて楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。」
