とある週末。朝は赤坂にある某タワー1Fのジムで身体を鍛え、上々のスタートで仕事を終わらせる。夜は三宿の玉川通りから一本入った隠れ家バーで気の知れた友人と語り合い、翌日の昼過ぎにはパートナーと代々木上原にあるカフェで、焙煎士がこだわり抜いたエチオピア産の豆から挽いた香りの良いコーヒーを飲みながら優雅に過ごす。

そんな仕事も遊びも全力で楽しむ男が理想とするシャツをテーマに、形にしたのが「HARRIS(ハリス)」です。

きれいめなスラックスにもジーンズにも馴染み、インナーとしてもアウターとしてもちょうど良い。ヴィンテージショップにありそうでないクラシックなムードをまといながら、都会に馴染む大人の色気を宿したベーシックなレギュラーカラーシャツです。

Gentle fits：着こなしアレンジの自由度が高いシルエット設計

タックインでもタックアウトでも。そして１枚で着ても、アウターとして羽織ってもサマになる。そんな新しいバランスを追求してシルエットを設計しました。下着として扱われてきたシャツよりも着丈を短くし、身幅には適度なゆとりを持たせています。さらに肩に傾斜をつけることで、程よい丸みを帯びたフォルムに仕上げました。まるでイタリアらしくも、アメリカらしくもある日本製のシャツ。この和魂洋才的な感性を映した設計が、あらゆるスタイルに馴染む理由です。

Gentle materials：タフな色気を宿す。熟練職人が手間暇をかけて仕上げた超高密度ウェザー生地

生地は水をも弾くほど密度が高いことから「ウェザー」と呼ばれている平織り生地のなかでも、極限まで高密度に織り上げられた「ハイカウントウェザー」を使用。一般的なカジュアルシャツに使われる糸よりも少しだけ細い60番手の糸を2本取りし、高密度に織り上げています。

そんな高密度生地を着やすくするために、生機(きばた)の段階で熟練の職人に小ロットずつ時間をかけてゆっくりと生地を揉みほぐしてもらいました。染色後の最終工程でも生地の芯から揉みほぐしを重ねています。乾燥では生地にテンションをかけずに優しく仕上げることで自然な表情に。

そして縫い上げて形にした後、バイオウォッシュ加工をかけることで、まるで長年大切に着込んだかのようなヴィンテージの表情とソフトでふっくらした風合いを表現しました。

Gentle made：他にない５タック入りの袖ディテールでさりげなく差別化

首元にブランドネームは付けず、胸ポケットは無くし、生地の柔らかい風合いを引き出すために芯地も最小限に。そんな引き算の設計のなかで、さりげなく個性を放つ５タックを入れた袖口。タックの分量を５つに分散することで、カフスから美しく滑らかに広がるようなラインを描きます。

貝ボタンは一般的なドレスシャツよりも少し厚みのある3mmに。シンプルなシャツスタイルにさりげなく上質なアクセントをプラスします。

「日本の生産背景を活かし、どこまで刺激的なベーシックウェアを表現できるか。突き詰めた末に生まれたひとつがこのシャツです。

かつて東京都内でも縫製工場が盛んだった時代、独立した縫製士たちが自宅の１階を工場にするスタイルが流行し、地域一帯に小さな縫製工場が次々と建っていたと言います。深夜に急遽決まったドメスティックブランドのコレクション用サンプルを仕立てるため、裁断したパーツを抱え、縫ってくれる工場を求めて一軒一軒ノックして回る。そんな全盛を経験してきた日本の生産背景を熟知するベテランの製品担当者とディスカッションを重ね、このシャツを形にしました。

生地も設計も縫製も、日本の繊維産業を支えてきた信頼できる工場の職人が仕上げています。

一見するとなんの変哲もないシャツですが、なぜか面構えが良くて惹かれる。そんな新しい感覚のバランスを楽しんでいただけたら、ディレクターとして何よりの喜びです。」
